How can I set up the uTest proxy?

3 minutesread

When a client’s testing environment is behind a firewall, they will white-listed the uTest Proxy to allow our testers access. Please follow the following steps to set up uTest proxy:

Note: If you are resetting your uTest password, you MUST first disconnect from the uTest proxy on all browsers/systems/devices, then set them all up with the new credentials. This may mean closing your browser and removing all browser data (cookies, etc.). Failure to do so will result in a locked account.

A note on best way to remedy this: The max user gets locked out is 1 hour and then they can try again, if they fail after the 1 hour they get locked out again for an hour. It takes 24 hours for the failure to drop out from our system. The best they can do is, stop trying to login and kill proxies completely. Wait an hour and then reset their password through forgot password and then try to login through proxy making sure to update all credentials beforehand.

You must first configure your proxy settings for your environment to be able to access any stage URLs within a test cycle. Be sure to check the special instructions in your test cycle, as the proxy address and logins may differ from what is in this article.
