Why did I not receive my payment?

There are multiple reasons why a payment may fail or not process. The most common reasons being:

Payment Method is not registered with uTest.

How to Update or Verify Your PayPal Account on uTest:

  1. Log into https://www.utest.com.
  2. Click the dropdown menu beside your name in the left navigation and select Payments.
  3. Click on Setup next to Payment Method.
  4. Enter the email address associated with your PayPal account.
  5. Click Save.

Don’t have a PayPal account? Go to PayPal.com to create one.

The PayPal email within your profile is incorrect or mis-typed.

Ensure the email address used to register PayPal as your preferred payment method with uTest is the email used for your PayPal account and is correctly spelled.

  1. Log into https://www.utest.com.
  2. Click the dropdown menu beside your name in the left navigation and select Payments.
  3. Select Change next to Payment Method.
  4. Confirm the email registered is present, spelled correctly, and the address associated with your PayPal Account.

Your PayPal account has not been verified with PayPal.

How to Verify Your PayPal Account with PayPal:

  1. Sign into PayPal
  2. Click “Summary”
  3. Click “See how much you can send with PayPal”
  4. Click “Get Verified” and follow the on-screen instructions

If you’ve completed the steps above successfully your payment should be successfully processed during the next payment cycle.

You are using Payoneer as your payment method and have made under $10 USD within a pay period

Payoneer will only issue payments if you have accrued more than $10 USD during a pay period. If your payment for the pay period is under $10 USD and PayPal is supported in your country, switch to using a PayPal account as your preferred payment and your payment will process during the next pay period. If PayPal is not supported in your country, contact Tester Support.

You are located within the United States and have made over $500 within a calendar year and have not submitted a W-9.

There is a legal requirement to submit a W-9 form to uTest if you are located within the United States and make more than $500 in a calendar year. Testers can earn up to $499.99 without the need to submit the W-9, however, payments will be suspended once the total amount of earnings in a year reaches $500 or above.

To submit your W-9:

  1. Log into https://www.utest.com.
  2. Click the dropdown menu beside your name in the left navigation and select Payments.
  3. Click the link to download a W-9 form.
  4. Print, fill out, and sign the W-9 form. To avoid any delays in processing, please be sure you’ve filled it out completely and correctly.
  5. Send a copy of the completed form to tester support by navigating to http://help.utest.com/contact-support and selecting W-9 Question/Submission.

Once Tester Support receives and processes your W-9, your payments will be reactivated and your pending payments will be processed the next pay period.
